Mona Singh Recollects Struggles During ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’ Shoot, ‘Was Not Allowed To Wax, Bleach Or Get Brows Done’
Actress Mona Singh has carved her niche both on TV and in films. She has done full justice to every character that she portrayed on screen. Though the actress did many memorable roles, she is still widely recognised for her debut television show ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’. The show clicked instantly with the masses and became a huge hit at the time of its run. However, when the serial was airing, Mona who played nerdy girl ‘Jasmeet Walia’ had to abide by a lot of restrictions put on her by the makers. In a recent interview with Mirchi Plus, the talented star shared the struggled she went through while working on her first show ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’.
Mona Singh reminisces ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’ days
Recalling the shocking facts about her iconic show, Mona revealed that contracts were very strict back in time. She wasn’t allowed to unveil her real self in front of people. Even while receiving an awards, she had to accept it as Jasmeet Walia. The actress told that even her cast did not know how she looked.
Further in the interaction, Mona disclosed that the makers restricted her from visiting any salon and making any change to her appearance during the tenure of the show. She was not allowed to wax, bleach, or get her brows done. This was an attempt to escape from people recognizing her true self.
Mona’s personal and professional life
Personally, Mona Singh settled down with an investment banker, Shyam Rajagopalan in a hush hush ceremony on December 27, 2019. During a conversation, the actress had talked about how she didn’t feel any change post her marriage like many other girls. She said that she knew her husband as a friend for a long time. Mona didn’t feel awkward staying away from her parents as they reside five minutes away from her home.
Professionally, the dedicated star did a few television operas like ‘Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi’, ‘Kya Huaa Tera Vaada’ and others. She made her silver screen debut in 2009 with the Aamir Khan starrer ‘3 Idiots’.
