Anubhav Sinha, at the Ajanta Ellora International Film Festival, conducted a masterclass and elucidated on the casting of Rishi Kapoor in the movie “Mulk.” He mentioned, “When he first received instructions to approach Amitabh Bachchan for the role,” Sinha said.
Even though there were initial disagreements between Rishi Kapoor and Sinha, they resolved their differences and crafted the script in three days through an argument. Sinha recalled, ”You don’t fear me; I handled your uncle on my debut!” Anubhav Sinha and Shammi Kapoor previously collaborated on the television program Shikast.
Rishi Kapoor died in 2020 from cancer. Sinha mourned the late celebrity when he died and stated, “The most widespread misconception was that he was a tough man to deal with. This was the least of my worries because I had previously worked with Mr. Shammi Kapoor on my first television show, Shikast. I was getting similar vibes from Rishiji. His attitude suggested a harsh man, yet he was such a teddy bear.”
