Fans of the popular web series Mirzapur have been treated to an unexpected surprise. Divyenndu Sharma, who gained immense popularity for his portrayal of the ruthless Munna Tripathi, aka Munna Bhaiya, is set to make a dramatic return in a special bonus episode of Mirzapur Season 3. The bonus episode is slated for release today on Prime Video, as confirmed by the show’s creators on Thursday.
The announcement was made via a promotional video shared on Instagram, with the caption, “Bawaal hone wala hai, kyunki bonus episode aa raha hai,” hinting at the chaos to come with Munna Bhaiya’s return.
In the promo, Divyenndu Sharma’s voice can be heard, saying, “Hum kya gaye, pura bawaal mach gaya. Suna hai humare loyal fans bohut miss kiye humko. Season 3 me kuch cheezein miss kiye aap. Wo hum khoj ke le aaye hain, just for you, Munna Tripathi ke suajanya se. Kyuki hum karte pehle hain, sochte baad me hain.” The dialogue reflects Munna’s notorious impulsiveness and his fans’ eagerness for his return.
Divyenndu’s character, Munna Tripathi, met a dramatic end in Season 2 when he was shot by Guddu Bhaiyya, played by Ali Fazal. His absence in Season 3 left fans yearning for more of the menacing character, making this bonus episode a highly anticipated event.
Mirzapur’s third season, which premiered on July 5, continued to captivate audiences with its intense storyline and ensemble cast, including Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Varma, Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Dugal, and Isha Talwar.
Divyenndu recently shared a memorable fan encounter while shooting in Scotland, where Mirzapur’s global reach was evident. “The shot was at a mental asylum. Junior artists were also there. There were a couple of girls from Brazil. She called her sister on a video call and said it was him (pointing at Divyenndu). I guess, Mirzapur has broken all the shackles, in terms of age, country, cities, everything,” he remarked.
With Munna Bhaiya’s return, the Mirzapur saga promises to deliver yet another unforgettable chapter.
