Usha Tai, aka Usha Nadkarni, popularly known for her famous TV serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’ was also seen in ‘Celebrity Master Chef’. This veteran actress of Hindi as well as Marathi theatre has now revealed that she lives alone in Mumbai even at this stage of her life. Her son and daughter-in-law do not live together. Usha says that she has accepted the ‘independent lifestyle’ and has learned to live and stay alone.

In a conversation with one of the media houses, Usha Nadkarni revealed that she has been living alone for 38 years. When she started living alone initially, she was ‘scared’. But now she has got used to it. Usha Tai, who debuted in the Marathi film ‘Singhasan’ in 1979, was born in Mumbai in 1946, before independence. She said, ‘My son likes non-veg very much. But my son does not live with me. He lives at my brother’s house in Borivali.’

Usha Nadkarni further said that she has been living a solitary life since 1987. Ever since her son got married. About her daily routine, she says, ‘I live alone. I wake up in the morning and prepare breakfast, cook food, and after taking a bath, I pray to God. Later, I eat food, and check Facebook.’ She further admitted that her brother and her parents helped a lot in raising her son. The actress said that in those days, she was constantly busy due to work and shooting.

When the veteran actress was asked why her son does not live with her, she said, ‘After marriage, my son started living in my brother’s flat, because he had a big house and a child to take care of. My brother lived in Borivali. He had a 2BHK. Now it has been redeveloped into a 3BHK. My son has a small daughter, so my brother told me to come here. Everyone likes a small child, that’s why he is there with the girl.’
