Nana Patekar On His Ouster From ‘Welcome 3’, ‘Unko Lagta Hai Hum Purane Ho Gaye’

Veteran actor Nana Patekar is making a comeback to films after a hiatus of 6 years with much-anticipated movie ‘The Vaccine War’. The trailer of film was released recently and during the event, Nana addressed multiple happenings in the industry. He also reacted to not being a part of Welcome 3 titled ‘Welcome To The Jungle’.

Talking about his absence from the upcoming movie, the actor shared that makers might have felt he has turned older now and so, they dropped him. Pointing towards ‘The Vaccine War’ director Vivek Agnihotri, Nana stated, “Inko lagta hai hum abhi purane nahi hue, isliye inhone le liya. It’s simple.”

The actor further added that industry never shuts for anyone. If a person wants to do good work, filmmakers will approach him. It only depends on him whether he wants to do it or not. He said that he still treats his films as first and last chance. He puts in his soul in the project.

Let us tell you that Nana played the role of Uday Shetty in ‘Welcome’ and ‘Welcome Back’. Besides him, Anil Kapoor who portrayed Majnu Bhai in first two parts will also not be part of the third instalment of ‘Welcome’ franchise.

Talking about ‘Welcome 3’, the official announcement video of the film was shared by the makers a few days back. The film has an ensemble cast of 24 actors which includes Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez and Disha Patani among others. The clip failed to impress the audiences as Nana and Anil were missing from it.

While ‘Welcome’ and ‘Welcome Back’ were helmed by Anees Bazmee, ‘Welcome 3’ will be directed by Ahmed Khan. The movie is currently in pre-production and is scheduled to hit the theatres on December 20, 2024.

About ‘The Vaccine War’

Meanwhile, Nana Patekar is coming up next with ‘The Vaccine War’. The film is about how India contributed in saving lives by producing a Covid-19 vaccine during the pandemic. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Sapthami Gowda, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Nivedita Bhattacharya and others. It will release on September 28, 2023.
