Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui started his career with short duration roles. But the thing that got him success today is his dedication towards his work. Now in a recent interview, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said that he will stop playing small roles and will only play lead roles in films. During this, he also pointed towards the shortcomings of Bollywood. Actually, while explaining his point, the actor gave the example of Oscar nominated Christopher Nolan’s film Oppenheimer. He said that in this film, such big actors played small roles, yet they came into the limelight by playing their parts because they got the opportunity to showcase their talent, but this does not happen in Bollywood.

Nawazuddin further said, ‘There are small and big roles in Bollywood and my quota of small roles is over. Why shouldn’t I do bigger roles now? Every actor wants to do big roles, small roles are just the beginning. It’s okay in the beginning, but every actor wants to do bigger roles. If I ask a star to do a small role in my film, will he ever do it? The actor further said that if a big star has to be groomed to play small roles, then the film should be like Oppenheimer, where such small characters are played by big actors. That is a different kind of cinema.’

Let us tell you ‘Oppenheimer’ was released along with ‘Barbie’ last year and became the third biggest hit of Christopher Nolan’s career. Despite the film starring Cillian Murphy in the lead role, the film’s supporting cast including Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Rami Malek and Florence Pugh gained immense popularity through the film.

Nawazuddin further said, ‘Even in those small roles, the audience can see the skill and art of the actor. When I look at Rami Malek I can see his vision despite it being a small role, one can see how intelligent the actor is.
If we talk about Nawazuddin’s upcoming film, the actor was last seen in the Telugu film ‘Saindhava’ and now he will be seen in ‘Noorani Chehra’.
