Nawazuddin Siddiqui Recalls Escaping Boat Accident During Shooting Of A Telugu Film

Nawazuddin Siddiqui calls his close encounter with a boat accident a miracle. He was shooting for “Saindhav,” which marks his South debut opposite Venkatesh Daggibati of “Rana Naidu” fame. This near-accident happened in Sri Lanka when the crew was shooting on a moving boat. He recalls what occurred and explains how he was lucky to land in the boat, not the ocean.

Unexpected Tumble But Not Hurt

During the shoot of a pivotal scene, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was on a moving boat when it toppled over. Amidst the scenic and serene surroundings of Sri Lanka, the sequence was supposed to happen on a boat. Suddenly, a massive wave hit the craft and the “Gangs of Wasseypur” actor flew off his feet.

Fortunately, he managed to plant himself once again on the boat, rather than the deep waters. Nawazuddin Siddiqui did not sustain any injuries after the incident. This unexpected and thrilling episode was also captured on camera, and the director decided to retain it. You can catch the unplanned scene in the final cut at the theatres. “They kept the shot in the film. I bet the audience will love it,” Siddiqui says.

The “Badlapur” villain says, “Every actor dreams of acting alongside Venkatesh Garu. I am pleased to get this chance.” The versatile actor reveals that all a performer looks for is an exciting role. Speaking of why it took so long for him to enter Tollywood, he says, “ I was also waiting for good stories, and it happened with Saindhav. It is an interesting story.”

Siddiqui also dubbed for his role as he plays a Hyderabadi in the film. “I don’t like prompting,” he complains. “Initially, it will be tough to learn a new language. When we get to know more and more about that language, it becomes easy.” After wrapping up an intense shoot for this action flick, Nawazuddin Siddiqui spent New Year’s Eve uniting with his estranged wife and kids in Dubai.
