Neeraj Chopra Creates History, Won Gold At World Athletics Championships 2023, Deets Inside!!

India’s golden boy has once again made India proud by creating history in javeline throw. Neeraj Chopra has become the first Indian athlete to win gold at the World Athletics Championships ever. Neeraj targeted the gold medal with a throw of 88.17 meters in the second attempt itself in the Javelin Throw event at the National Athletics Center in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Lets us tell you that there are a total of six attempts i.e. rounds that are available to the athelets in the final round of throw. And Neeraj had thrown 88.17 meters in the second round itself. Since then he was maintaining the lead in the points table and this lead was maintained by him till the end of the championship.

A champion in Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and Diamond League, Neeraj had not won gold in the World Athletics Championships only. But now after this tournament, he has earned a gold medal in his bag now. Neeraj’s six attempted fouls were 88.17m, 86.32m, 84.64m, 87.73m and 83.98m.

In the same championship Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won the silver medal with a throw of 87.82 metres. At the same time, Jakub Vedlech of the Czech Republic targeted the bronze medal with the best throw of 86.67 meters. Neeraj was accompanied by two other Indian players DP Manu and Kishore Jena in the final round of championship. Kishor Jena finished fifth with a best throw of 84.77m while DP Manu finished sixth with a best throw of 84.14m.

Last time Neeraj Chopra had won a silver medal in the World Championship. The 25-year-old Indian star athlete won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. He also managed to win gold medals at the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games in 2018. Apart from this he also won the Diamond League last year.
