After seven years, Neetu Kapoor is ready to return to Bollywood with Raj Mehta’s comedy-drama Jug Jugg Jeeyo, which also stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, and Anil Kapoor, as well as Prajakta Koli and Manish Paul in prominent roles.
In a recent interview, the actress stated that she worked on films with her late husband, actor Rishi Kapoor, as a “favour.” The two have collaborated on films like Kabhi Kabhie, Khel Khel Mein, Zinda Dil, Amar Akbar and Anthony, Besharam, Love Aaj Kal, Do Dooni Chaar, and many more.
In an interview with PTI, the actress described herself as a ‘chamchi’ to her late husband and claimed she worked with Rishi to make him happy.
She says, “I worked on several films with my husband, and although I was a chamchi (sycophant), he would urge, “Come and do it.” I didn’t do it of my own will. My will is Jug Jugg Jeeyo. I attempted to make my spouse happy by doing (all of this). I don’t have such reservations, like one in Love Aaj Kal, Another in Do Dooni Chaar. They asked for it, and I delivered it. So I was doing him a favour, which I didn’t want to do.”
She also discussed how she handled Rishi Kapoor’s passing, describing it as a “journey” for her. “My children advised me to be occupied rather than idle at home. I don’t want to sit around and think about how depressed I am. It used to be all about my spouse and children.” Neetu went on to say that she is now welcoming work into her life. Jug Jug Jeeyo, on the other hand, will be available from June 24, 2022.
