Neil Nitin Mukesh Was Once Denied Immigration, Was Refused To Be An Indian By Immigration Officials, Deets Inside

One of the most handsome and talented Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh recently made a shocking revelation in the media. He revealed that once he was detained at New York airport and questioned about his nationality. He told that despite having an Indian passport, the immigration officials refused to believe that he was an Indian and was denied immigration.

Neil Nitin Mukesh told one of the media houses that this incident happened during the shooting of the film ‘New York’ (2009). Let us tell you that coincidentally, this film revolves around racial profiling after 9/11 attack. Neil recalled the incident and said, ‘I was detained at the airport. They refused to believe that I have an Indian passport and I am Indian. They did not let me answer or say anything for myself.’

Neil further told that what started as a routine investigation soon turned into a four-hour torturous investigation, as the officers kept questioning him continuously without giving him a chance to clarify his identity. Neil told how the situation finally calmed down. He said, ‘Four hours later, they came and asked, ‘What do you have to say?’ And I simply said, ‘Just Google me.’

This answer seemed to have surprised the officers. Embarrassed by their mistake, they immediately changed their tone and turned from interrogation to curiosity. Neil said, ‘They started asking me about my grandfather, my father, and my family’s legacy.’ Coming from a prestigious family of Indian cinema, Neil is the grandson of the great singer Mukesh and son of singer Nitin Mukesh. Despite having a background in music, Neil chose the path of acting and started his career as a child actor with ‘Vijay’ in the year 1988. After this, he debuted with ‘Johnny Gaddar’ in 2007.
