‘Never Do Film That Require To Wear Dhoti’: Ranbir Kapoor Shares What His Father Said

Actor Ranbir Kapoor is geared up for his next action drama movie ‘Shamshera.’ After a long time actor Ranbir Kapoor moved towards different projects and did periodic movies as well. Ranbir’s cute smile and good looks make him a chocolate boy on screen and females gushing about his healthy flirting. Ranbir will be seen doing some serious action in his upcoming projects like Bhramastra and Shamshera.

Father to be, Ranbir Kapoor was asked why he stayed away from periodic movies for the last 15 years. The actor replies by highlighting the advice he had from his father late Rishi Kapoor. Ranbir said, “My father had told me ‘never do a film that requires you to wear a dhoti because they never work. Always do commercial films.’ Apart from that, as an actor, you often get typecast. You need to keep experimenting. I have been working for 15 years, and I must present something new with each role. That is why I agreed to Shamshera when I was offered the film.”

Elaborating about the movie, he added, “If you start from Ramayan and Mahabharat and come all the way down to Thor – the hero’s intention will always remain the same. A hero is someone who you can look up to, somebody you can relate to or who you aspire to be.” Shamshera is directed by Karan Malhotra.

The movie sets in the 1800s and is about a dacoit tribe fighting for their independence from the British. Ranbir can be seen in the double role of father-son who leads the tribe while Sanjay Dutt plays a corrupt cop, Shuddh Singh. The Film also featured Vaani Kapoor in the pivot role and will hit 70 MM on July 22. Apart from Shamshera, Ranbir will be seen in Aayan Mukerji’s ‘Bhramastra’ along with his wife Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy and Amitabh Bachchan.
