‘No Matter How Well I Have Done But…’; Vikrant Massey On Getting Paid Less Than His Female Co-Actors!

Usually, actresses in the entertainment world complain about the disparity in the fees. They are often heard insisting on making their pay equal to the male counterparts. But actor Vikrant Massey is facing altogether a different situation. The actor who shared screen space with Deepika Padukone in ‘Chhapaak’ has now made a big and shocking disclosure on his fees for the same film. In a latest conversation, Vikrant has revealed getting less salary than Deepika in Meghna Gulzar’s film ‘Chhapaak’.

Vikrant Massey and Deepika Padukone starrer film ‘Chhapaak’ may have been a flop at the box office, but the acting of both the stars was highly appreciated. Vikrant feels that there were some political reasons affecting the performance of ‘Chhapaak’. Talking about his fees for the film, the actor said, ‘In most cases women get less salary than men. Many A-lister actresses have spoken openly on this, but our situation is different. Female co-stars are paid more than us in the films we work in, but I don’t make a fuss about it.’

Taking his point further, Vikrant said, ‘The actresses of my films has got more money than me. No matter how well I do, I cannot get paid as much as Deepika Padukone or fight for the credit of a film.’

Vikrant Massey became popular in every household with his small screen show ‘Balika Vadhu’. He has come a long way in his career. The actor has created waves with his roles like Bablu Bhaiya in the web series ‘Mirzapur’ and Rishu in ‘Haseen Dilruba’. Recently, Vikrant garnered appreciation for his work with Sara Ali Khan and Chitrangada Singh  in ‘Gaslight’.
