‘No One’s Gonna Trust Me’: Andrew Garfield Refutes Rumours Of Spider-Man 4 Appearance, Addresses Fans’ Scepticism
Andrew Garfield has refuted rumours suggesting he will appear in Marvel Studios’ upcoming ‘Spider-Man 4’. In an interview with “GQ UK”, Garfield acknowledged fan scepticism due to his history of denying involvement in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021), where he ultimately made a surprise appearance alongside Tobey Maguire.
“I’m going to disappoint you. Yeah, no. But I know no one’s going to trust anything I say from now on,” the 41-year-old actor remarked, addressing speculation.
Despite denying his involvement in the new project, Garfield hinted that he remains open to returning to major franchises under the right circumstances. “If it felt in line with my soul and was going to be fun… Maybe I’m going to have like five kids at some point, and I’m gonna need to start saving up for the school tuition or something,” he joked.
Garfield first donned the Spider-Man suit in 2012’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” and reprised the role in its 2014 sequel, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”. Fans were thrilled by his return in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, which brought together all three cinematic versions of the web-slinging superhero, including Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire.
Meanwhile, “Spider-Man 4” will feature Tom Holland as the titular superhero and Zendaya reprising her role as MJ. Filming is set to commence in the summer of 2025, with the film scheduled for release in U.S. theaters on July 24, 2026.
Garfield’s comments may leave the door slightly ajar for future appearances, but for now, the actor maintains he has no plans to swing back into action in “Spider-Man 4”.
