Veteran actress-turned politician Jaya Bachchan is one of the most renowned celebrities of her times. Even today, she is popular in the media for several reasons and her bluntly honest nature is one of them.
Just like her grandmother, Navya Naveli Nanda who is the daughter of Shweta Bachchan Nanda, is quite famous. Although she has not stepped into the film industry, she is a rage among the masses. Her podcast What The Hell, Navya grabs enough headlines to make her a celebrated personality.
In her podcast, viewers get to listen to three generations of Bachchan family- Jaya, Shweta and Navya talking on various subjects. In a recent episode, Jaya was heard discussing about the sabbatical she took from acting to focus on her family life.
When Navya said that women sacrifice their happiness for others, Jaya said that she doesn’t like when someone tags that dedicated time to family as ‘sacrifice’. She further explained that when one does something from within, then it is not a sacrifice.
Talking about herself, the Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham actress stated, “When I took a break from acting, everybody said that ‘she sacrificed her career for her marriage and children’.
But that was not the case. It was not a sacrifice, but something I really wanted to do. I was happy being a mother and wife and enjoyed that role more than what I was getting to do. It was not a sacrifice at all.”
In an earlier episode of Navya’s show titled Biology: Blessed But Biased, Jaya discussed the difficulties actresses of her times used to face while shooting during menstruation. She had said that there were no vans to change sanitary napkins and so they used to change behind bushes.
On the work front, Jaya Bachchan will appear next in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani alongside Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi.
