Ali Merchant on handling trollers
Ali said that this is the first time he had done something like this. His slot usually started about 30 minutes before the Azaan time. The actor stated, ‘It is important to give respect to Azaan during Ramzan.’
Furthermore, Ali also revealed that when he stopped playing the music, there were some trolls in the crowd who were shouting ‘I’m scared and that’s why I stopped’. Replying to them, Ali said, ‘I only fear God’.
The actor quoted, ‘When I stopped the music everyone was shocked. People had no idea what was happening. From the producers to the organizers, everyone was taken by surprise. But in the end, everyone valued and respected this fact.’
Ali told that stopping the music during Azaan is a personal choice, but he would like to request others to do the same as it shows our respect for the religion. The star-DJ said that he is no longer afraid of what people will say or what they will think, he does whatever he feels is right.
Ali also confessed that he has been fasting since childhood. The actor said, ‘I have a habit of fasting during Ramzan since childhood. Such habits always help me to run everything smoothly. The crowd in Pune was very understanding and mature. They respect every religion which is very good.’
