Oppenheimer Actress Emily Blunt Reunites with Meryl Streep; Feels “Lighter Than Air” After Turning 41

Emily Blunt

Oppenheimer actress Emily Blunt reunites with Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway after 18 years. “The Devil Wears Prada” team came together for the SAG Awards and the trio gave away the trophy. Emily also recently quipped that after turning 41, she feels more relaxed and at peace with herself. Starring in a multiple-award-winning film like Oppenheimer will do that to anyone, we guess!

Age Doesn’t Matter

After a long time, Emily Blunt says she is finally happy and peaceful. According to People.com, she doesn’t let ageing bother her just yet. “I feel like I’ve been lighter than air the last couple of weeks. I don’t know if I’ve had much time to let it sink in. I feel very happy, peaceful, happy.”

Moreover, she has been receiving rave reviews for her portrayal in the Christopher Nolan film that bagged every award there is. That too, after almost a year of Hollywood actors’ and writers’ strike. “Iron Man” star Robert Downey Jr. has some nice things to say about the British actress.

“Blunt is most naturally disposed to being an optimist while being real about things. And also, it’s really weird, because you don’t see a lot of Brit in her.” But he is definitely not calling her cool, he teases, “You have an equanimity and a balance – you almost never talk smack about anyone.”

Reunion with Co-Stars After 18 Years

Emily Blunt played Emily Charlton, assistant, and Anne Hathaway was Andrea Sachs, an intern to Meryl Streep in the 2006 comedy “The Devil Wears Prada.” Meryl’s character of Runway magazine editor Miranda Priestly was iconic. The former colleagues were at the SAG Awards to present the Best Male Actor Award.

They all did a sketch with roles reversed, reminding you of the famous movie, and the clip went viral in hours. Anne and Emily didn’t let Meryl Streep talk but interrupted and roasted her with her classic lines from the film. Blunt also jested and goaded Streep to take her own time in opening the envelope, “By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know that thrills me,” referring to the blockbuster.

Emily Blunt Used to Stutter in Childhood

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are one of the Hollywood power couples that give space to each other’s ambitions. They also find support in their relationship, with Emily starring in his hit directorial franchise “A Quiet Place.” They are currently working on “A Quiet Place: Day One,” a prequel to the two released films in the series. And their passion extends to more than the big screen.

Emily’s talents and hobbies also include home renovations and she hopes to flip houses someday. “I adore renovating,” she once said in an interview. However, she also wishes to be a part of a film based on a “stutterer,” as she herself struggled with it in childhood. Meanwhile, she keeps her “Pinterest” boards updated.
