Pankaj Tripathi Shares His Experience Of Working In 83- Checkout!!!
Pankaj Tripathi will play Man Singh, the manager of the Indian cricket team that won the World Cup in 1983, in Kabir Khan’s film 83, which stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. The role is really special for the actor because he gets to play a real-life “hero” about whom people know nothing.
This year, the audience witnessed Pankaj Tripathi in various roles. He played the roles of a hapless farmer, Lal Bihari, in Kaagaz, a conniving driver, Bhanu, in Mimi, and a wily policeman in Bunty Aur Babli 2. The actor said that he agreed to be part of 83 as it “depicts the beautiful journey of the Indian cricket team that brought the World Cup home.” Moreover, he believes that many people will know the stories of the players, but very few will know about Man Singh. Adding to his statement, the actor said, “It is a story about a hero whom nobody knows about. I agreed to do the film in the first narration itself.”
Tripathi said that he was highly impressed with the “coordination, passion, and team spirit” that the entire team of 83 had. Furthermore, he said, “When you watch the film, you will feel a strong bond among the cast. We had such great fun during the shoot. Every day after pack-up, while returning in a bus to the hotel, Harrdy Sandhu and Ammy Virk used to sing songs, and everyone else sang in a chorus. “
Tripathi, 40 years old, was the seniormost actor on the sets of 83. He received immense love and respect and was the only person on the set to be addressed as “sir” by other actors. The actor further said, “When we wrapped the Dharamshala schedule of the film, Ranveer Singh told me that the entire team was privileged to have worked with me and sharing the screen with me.” The actor defined his time with Ranveer Singh as “bahut shaandaar” and said the actor “loves him a lot”.
The actor further said, “Main bohot bechain aatma nahi hoon (I am not a restless soul). Whatever role I get, I’ll make it my dream role.”
