Anurag Kashyap disclosed why Parineeti Chopra rejected a role opposite late actor Sushant Singh Rajput

While talking about the casting of his 2014 film, ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ with journalist, Faye D’Souza, Anurag Kashyap revealed that he had roped in late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput as the main lead. However, when they reached out to Parineeti Chopra for the female lead, she simply stated that she doesn’t want to work with a TV actor. The director then explained to the actress that Sushant is doing ‘Kai Po Che’, ‘PK’, and by the time ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ will comes out, he will not just be a television actor.

Furthermore, Anurag talked about Sushant’s three-film deal with Yash Raj Films. He mentioned, “Parineeti was doing a film called ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ and she must have gone and spoken to YRF who must have called him and said ‘Why don’t you come and do ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ and not that film?’ And he disappeared on us.”
