Bollywood actress Patralekhaa, the lovely wife of Rajkummar Rao, who is preparing to welcome motherhood in the coming months, recently opened up about her journey with egg freezing and how it differs from a naturally conceived pregnancy.
Patralekhaa Opens Up About Her Egg Freezing Journey
Recently, CityLights actress Patralekhaa joined Soha Ali Khan for an open conversation on her YouTube channel, where she revealed that three years ago, she made the bold decision to freeze her eggs. Reflecting on her journey, she admitted that after experiencing pregnancy, she realised it was actually much easier compared to the egg-freezing process. Patralekhaa explained that her doctor hadn’t fully prepared her for how challenging the procedure would be, and it even led to significant weight gain. She shared:
“I had also frozen my eggs about three years back and now that I am pregnant, I feel pregnancy was way easier than freezing the eggs. My doctor didn’t tell me how difficult it was going to be. Also the blues that I had, once my egg freezing was done. So between the two, I would always recommend that the young girls should just get pregnant. It’s just easier than going through that whole process.”
Patralekhaa Worked on an International Project While Pregnant
During the same conversation, Patralekhaa shared that, for a while, she wasn’t even aware of her pregnancy because her initial test had come back negative. It was only after visiting a gynecologist that she discovered the happy news. She went on to explain that, at the time, she had already signed on for an international travel show. Despite the fear she and Rajkummar felt for their baby, they decided to go ahead with the show since they had already committed. In her own words:
“We had signed to do this travel show. We signed the contract in December or January and then we figured we were pregnant in March and in April, we had to go do that and we were contractually bound and we couldn’t even tell them but we were very scared. We had to do it because it was a commitment but it was very scary.”
