While speaking to Barkha Dutt on one of the media portals, Sonam Kapoor said, “I had a condition called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Because of that, I had a lot of hormonal issues. I turned 16 and I gained a lot of weight. That’s the time when you should be the prettiest. Sweet 16 – that’s what all the books say. I had facial hair. You start getting pimples, people would tell me, ‘Oh, she’s Anil Kapoor’s daughter.’ However, it fades with age. It doesn’t last forever. It’s just a normal hormonal thing of adolescence. It faded, but I was very unhappy about it.”

She never plucked her eyebrows. I remember my mother showing me Kajol’s picture and saying, ‘Look at her! She’s the biggest heroine right now.’ I remember feeling inspired after seeing that.”
