‘People With 30-40 Million Followers Are…’: Neha Sharma Reveals Losing A Film Due To Influencer Culture!

Neha Sharma is a well-known actress of Bollywood. The actress who forayed into Hindi films with ‘Crook’ remains quite active on social media and is also often papped coming out from the gym. At the same time, she is presently in discussion for her upcoming film ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’ alongside actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Recently, Neha opened up how the influencer culture has made her lose projects. She said that a person’s talent is now judged by how many followers he has on Instagram.

‘Gave the film to someone else as I had less followers’

Neha revealed that interestingly, she had posted ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’ through a reel which was seen by the casting director Jogi. Although Neha clarified about this and said that it was just an exception. She explained that she went to several readings for a role and when she finally heard back from the producers, she was told that the project had gone to someone else. Neha who has more than 15 million followers on Instagram, then asked about the person’s acting, to which she was told that it didn’t matter as the person had 30 to 40 million followers. Neha said that people with more following on Instagram are getting cast in leading roles.

Actor will be fit not influencer

The actress said that initially she used to be very sad about all these things, but has now accepted that this may actually be the new norm. However, expressing her views on this culture, she said that it cannot last for long. She further added that eventually, filmmakers will realize that only an actor will fit the box for an acting role and not an influencer.

Meanwhile, Neha and Nawazuddin starrer ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’ is a comedy film directed by Ghalib Asad Bhopali. It  will hit the theaters next week.
