Petition In Bombay High Court Against Vivek Agnihotri’s Film ‘The Kashmir Files’, Seeking Stay On Release

A Public Interest Litigation has been filed in the Bombay High Court against Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files, against a particular community, while objecting to the content of the film. The petition has requested to stop the release of the film. Let us tell you, The Kashmir Files is releasing in theaters on March 11. The film’s director Vivek Agnihotri has also reacted to the petition.

The story of The Kashmir Files is based on the expulsion of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley in the 1990s and the political climate of this period. The film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Puneet Issar, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar in the lead roles.

Vivek has shared the information of the petition on his Twitter account, in which it has been told that the petition was filed on behalf of Uttar Pradesh’s Intezar Hussain Syed and stopped the release of the film. have been done. The petition claimed that the film’s trailer misrepresents the Muslim community and some scenes encourage community bitterness. The petition also described the film as one-sided. Reacting to this, Vivek wrote – So much fear from a small film, please advise what to do. Many users have reacted to this tweet. The trailer of the film was released a few days back and it was highly praised for the hard-hitting sequences shown in it. It is shown in the trailer that the separatist forces were at their peak at that time demanding independence in Kashmir, which got the support of some political leaders.

Kashmiri Pandits were attacked and forced to leave the Valley. Vivek Agnihotri has previously authored The Tashkent Files on the mystery behind the death of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, which was both critically and commercially successful.
