The famous reality show Shark Tank India hooked the entire nation to its TV screens with its unique concept of various entrepreneurs pitching their creative business ideas. Among the many sharks aka judges on this show was former BharatPe co-founder, Ashneer Grover. He gained enormous amount of fame for his witty remarks and habit of speaking his heart out.
Besides his blunt yet honest judgements on the show, Grover grabbed eyeballs when he was accused of embezzlement of funds along with his wife Madhuri Jain Grover earlier this year. Amidst all the irregularities in audit, Madhuri was fired from her position of Head of Controls while Ashneer resigned from CEO post in March. In a recent turn of events, his fintech unicorn has filed a lawsuit against Grovers besides charging them with Rs 88.67 crore as damage control.
Reacting to the same, Ashneer took a jibe at publications for coming up with the same story towards the end of the year too. He tweeted, “Come on Press: Ek story kitni baar bechoge ! Saal ke shuru mein bhi same – end mein bhi same. Even I am bored with this Déjà Vu (Chu). Kuchh to naya karo – paise ke liye creativity mat kill karo yaar. Chalo pic to nayi vaali lagalo.”
Ashneer did not stop here and went on to slam Shashvat Nakrani with whome he co-founded BharatPe in 2018, for showing his back when he needed his support. Taking a dig at Nakrani, he recalled how he once helped him to bunk office so that he could complete his IIT degree.
The ex-shark penned, “ Doglapan: Shashvat (Co-Founder) to me. Bhai degree poori karni hai. Ek saal office bunk kar ke IIT poora kar leta hoon. Secondary kara dena aur salary bhi mat rokna – investor ko mat batana. Shashvat to Board: No objection in filing case against Ashneer.”
