She wrote, “Don’t troll a nine-year-old child. It is very strange to think what effect puberty and dressing up can have on a girl. On the left is a picture of me at a strange age before my teens, in which I have kept a “boy cut” hairstyle so that it does not become a burden for me in school.”

The actress further wrote, “Thank you Maa. I came from a “bowl cut” to this. So that was a triumph and on the right, I am a 17-year-old who won the title of Miss India in the year 2000 and am drenched in the glow of hair, makeup, and clothes. Both photos were taken less than a decade apart.” She further added, “As Britney Spears has so eloquently said… I am not a girl, not yet a woman. That is exactly how I felt when I entered the big world of entertainment. Almost 25 years later… still trying to figure it out. Don’t we all do though? Thinking back to my childhood today often makes me feel kinder to myself.”
