People of Odisha’s Jagannath Dham i.e. Puri city and tourists coming here from all over the world will no longer have to worry about pure drinking water. Nor will now have to spend money to buy water and drink it because now high-quality pure drinking water will be available from every tap here. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched the Drink from Tap scheme on Monday.

After the launch of the Drink from Tap scheme, Puri has become the first city in the country to provide clean water from every tap across the city. With this, it has become one of the few cities in the world where 24×7 high-quality pure drinking water has been arranged for all citizens through the tap. More than 2.5 lakh people of Puri city will be benefited from the Drink from Tap scheme.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the Drink from Tap scheme. On this occasion, he said that not only the whole, but the whole of Odisha is writing a new story of development. Now all the people of Puri city will get 24×7 pure drinking water i.e. clean water from every house, every tap. Poor residents no longer need to install filters in their homes as they will get clean and pure drinking water from the tap itself.

Chief Minister Patnaik informed that the Drink from Tap scheme has been started for the first time in the country in Puri city. Now the city of Puri has also been included in the list of cities like London, Los Angeles, and Singapore. Let us tell you that such a system is present only in developed countries like America, England, Japan, Singapore.
After this scheme, tourists in Puri will not have to buy a bottle of drinking water nor will they have to carry the bottle with them. Drinking water will be available at every place of the city only from the tap, the government has made arrangements for this.
With the introduction of the Drink from Tap scheme, there will be a reduction of 400 metric tonnes of plastic waste annually in the city of Puri. Under the Five Tea Scheme of the State Government, work is going on to provide pure drinking water to 40 lakh people of 16 cities under the Drink from Tap scheme.
