Rehnna Hai Terre Dil Mein (RHTDM) has become quite a sensational movie in the last few years. Back in 2001, when the film got released, it did not do well at the box office. But soon after, it developed a cult fan base for its evergreen songs and chemistry between the lead actors. A remake of Tamil romantic drama Minnale, the film starred R Madhavan, Dia Mirza and Saif Ali Khan.
Now if reports are to be believed, Bollywood is again attempting to make the film with a fresh pairing. When Madhavan, who debuted in Bollywood with RHTDM was recently informed about the same, he had a different opinion about it. Read what he said.
Talking to a leading daily, Madhavan said, “I think it’s foolishness, and that’s my opinion. I wouldn’t want to touch that. I wouldn’t do it as a producer. I wish them all the very best from the bottom of my heart, I do. And I hope they surprise, because nothing in the industry can actually be predicted but it has a lot of memories attached to it for a lot of people. For the audiences, it is more than a movie. It is sort of an anthem in some ways. It’s like almost saying that 15 years from now you want to remake 3 Idiots. I don’t think it’s a sensible… let me just put it again – I think it’s a brave decision.”
When Tanu Weds Manu star was further inquired about who he wants to see stepping into the shoes of Maddy (R Madhavan) and Reena (Dia Mirza) if his classic film is made again, the actor said, “I don’t think the film will be made, but I don’t know who else I will cast. But maybe, Kartik and Alia Bhatt, maybe.”
