New Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) conducted this study on corona and radiotherapy for the first time in the country, in which low-dose radiotherapy is 90 percent effective on infected patients. So far only three such studies have come to the fore in the whole world.
Corona Virus
However, it has not yet been included in the corona protocol because more studies are needed regarding radiotherapy. According to doctors, patients in the age group of 40 to 70 years were included in the study, in which some patients were suffering from some disease before infection. These patients had a fever above 98 degrees and their oxygen level was less than 94 percent. Doctors followed National Early Warning Score (NEWS) standards to select patients.
Inpatient 4 patient study, Dr. DN Sharma of AIIMS said, when two patients were given radiotherapy, their oxygen level started improving after three days. One was discharged after 10 days and the other patient after 13 days. There were no side effects of radiotherapy in any of the patients, the patient who died during the study had mobility and the infection had also increased significantly.

A senior official associated with the task force regarding the National Kovid Treatment Protocol said that there is information about this study of AIIMS, but so far only three such studies have been done in the world, one of which has been done for the first time in the country. It cannot be considered until we have more studies.
According to doctors, earlier studies on radiotherapy have also been done in Tehran and Georgia. The third study has been completed at Delhi AIIMS. The results of all three studies are very similar among themselves.
AIIMS doctors say that now this study should be done on a large scale in the country, in which top government and private hospitals of the country can participate. A senior doctor of AIIMS said that this therapy has also been given to serious patients who came during the second wave, the results of which are yet to come, but initially, he can say that it is quite enough in patients who change from moderate to severe condition. is proving effective.
