The basis for any democracy is its constitution along with the people of the land and a written document of the Parliamentary minutes. In no uncertain terms, it is the people who become elected and execute the powers of the constitution, which they are empowered to execute, by being mandated in the democracy, empowered by the electorate. In the present scenario of Rahul Gandhi versus Modi + Adani (or whoever and could be un-named people), who Rahul Gandhi would state in his press conference on 25th March 2023, being the very cause of his disqualification from the parliament, between the legal events of 23rd and 24th of March, it is the Indian democracy which has suffered the biggest blow, along with the electors of the leaders in this democracy. And it is this democracy, which is having the last laugh, and also it is this democracy which has been plundered. It needs to be understood here that it is because of democracy that such legal action is even possible.
On the run-up to these judgments (before all this) there was a side that you could have taken amongst The Congress, The BJP and any other party in India; but with so many leaders going to jail (in the so-called opposition), purely for their interest in money vis-à-vis the governance of the country, the lame voter of the country is not left with any clear direction on which flag to back. This being the truth it does not matter if both Rahul and Modi go to jail or present evidence of absolving themselves from their material gains in power (and or money), since it’s the Democracy, (and the rights given to the leaders practising it) which has been made a mockery of it. For the first time in Indian political history, after the 1977 emergency, such an occasion has come when the Indian law of its land falls short of a democratic process in civil governance in India.
Hence, both the BJP as well as the Congress are at fault since either party should have exercised simple common sense in their hate speeches and legal manoeuvring restraining from being swallowed by pure vendetta as if they are running India as a private limited company.
With the central government going all out to tame the present opposition and the upcoming unification of opposition, when the competition into jail, or to warn them of consequences, is like practising an unwritten emergency of 1977. This is politics and tights change. Sometimes they change for the better, and most times to change for the worse. There is no criticism about the present government since it is doing an excellent job in running the country and keeping it unified, but at the same time, it needs to be seen that the political leaders of it seem either ambitious or recluse of their powers. Though this is a very lame statement being made here, it does remind the reader, who is also an elector to practise caution in the upcoming 2024 general elections, where the central government will lead India for a term of another five years. With no opposition or a scared opposition democracy basically fails, even though there is a democracy but the rule of anarchy, power myopia, and authoritarian pseudo-dictatorship come into play. Going forward from here and into Rana for elections, the ruling party created good notes with the Hindus, the Muslims and the other communities in the initial days of his work – by addressing fundamentals in their religion and giving relief to Muslim women, along with many other changes in the fabric of Indian society.
Lately, rather than going behind the Adani Enterprises, the government of India is going behind people who raise their voices against a report by Hindenburg research, which outlines various financial and doings. There is a form which has been made by bankers, lenders and business people to investigate what happened at Adani Enterprises. It seems an eye wash since they are people of the same club that run similar kinds of enterprises, including being large beneficiaries of business orders from the government. So getting a report from them may be legally an important issue, but the transparency of it still would remain decadent for matters of logic and transparency.
Though there has been a large fall in Adani Enterprises and associated companies, it does not affect the retail investor in the Indian stock markets since he was not well invested in Adani Enterprises at any level. Hence the hue and cry seem to be limited. The sinking of the Silicon Valley bank in a matter of 48 hours and then being rescued in the next 24 hours is almost like a miracle of new technology and the new world order. The interesting thing that has come to light is that all the start-up funding remains in this bank from the lenders or Private equity/VC funds which are released to start-ups. It is akin to the investors giving start-ups money with a leash, which they can pull back at any time – whether legally or otherwise.
The sudden upheaval of the Khalistan movement in the guise of a young side seemed illogical from the start. There was no fresh idea, and the factual presentation of the necessity for another nation for a minority community seemed illogical. It is coming that such an upheaval is dying its own death with the protagonist running away in an SUV and finally on a bike.
