Rajasthani Sufi Folk Singer Mangey Khan Passes Away At The Young Age of 49, Deets Inside

Famous Rajasthani Sufi folk singer Mangey Khan is a renowned face in the world of folklore. He has made his fans crazy with his several local songs and is loved a lot by the people. But today morning news of his sudden demise surprised everyone and put people in shock. He has said goodbye to this world at the young age of 49. Let us tell you that Mangey Khan was the lead singer and harmonium player of the Rajasthani Sufi folk group ‘Barmer Boys’. He also had a heart surgery recently. The late singer’s last rites were performed by his wife and three children. Mangey Khan, while being a part of ‘Barmer Boys’, performed about 200 concerts in 20 countries with the group in Europe, North America, and Asia.

Let us tell you that Mangey Khan belonged to the Manganiyars, a group of hereditary musicians from Ramsar village in Barmer, Rajasthan. He used to sing for his clients along with others from his community at local traditional events such as weddings and births of children. Their repertoire includes bhajans of Kabir and Meera and Sufi kalam. The Barmer Boys made their debut at the Amaras Desert Music Festival in 2011, produced under the Amaras Records label.
