Rajkumar Hirani recently dubbed Shah Rukh Khan ”a brave actor” for doing Dunki. Dunki was released this year on December 21st coinciding with Prabhas’ Salaar. While the box office collection report on the two movies is yet to be evaluated, Rajkumar Hirani is happy with the film’s performance so far.
According to Hirani, a film’s performance should be based on its quality rather than numbers at the box office.
‘Shah Rukh is a brave man and brave actor’, says Rajkumar Hirani
It’s been a week since Rajkumar Hirani’s latest film Dunki released. The film is doing well so far. Discussing on X, Rajkumar Hirani praised Shah Rukh Khan and dubbed him ‘brave’ and ‘great’.
“Yes absolutely, SRK (Shah Rukh Khan) is very brave actor, he was very well aware that mass films are working well at the box office in recent few years but still he chosen to do Dunki. And it’s not about the box office collections every time, we wanted to provide a great social message and luckily we are succeeded in this mission and also the film is doing very well on the BO (Box Office), people are really liking and appreciating the film Dunki, I am very happy about it.”
Rajkumar Hirani has given several unique films such as Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots, and PK. According to Hirani, working with Shah Rukh Khan in Dunki was his dream come true.

In an interview with the news agency ANI, Hirani talked about his first collaboration with Shah Rukh.
“SRK was very curious about this story… he is a brave man and brave actor… he was very happy with the story, I wanted to work with Shah Rukh Khan since a long time… he is a great man who showers love on everybody.”
Hirani also opened up about delivering films with a meaningful story. In the same interview with ANI, he further added,
“You always want to make a movie with a meaningful and good story. Shah Rukh liked the story from the beginning. After doing action movies, as an actor, he also wanted to do something different and this is the reason he was very involved and happy about it. I also wanted to work with SRK for so long and, ‘mere liye vo baat puri ho gayi (I lived my dream)’ and finally we worked together and ‘bahut maza aaya (It was a lot of fun)’.”
Earlier this year, Shah Rukh hailed Hirani as the best director of India and his co-star Vicky Kaushal as one of the finest actors in a promotional event in Dubai.
