Ram Kapoor Clarifies Viral Statement On Earning For ‘Four Generations’: ‘Only Possible If You Invest Smartly’

Television star Ram Kapoor recently clarified a much-talked-about comment he made earlier, where he had suggested that top TV actors like himself, Ronit Roy, and Sakshi Tanwar have earned enough to secure the futures of their next four generations. Speaking with Republic World, Ram said the statement was misunderstood and taken out of context.

“The question was how much TV actors can make, and I found it vague,” Ram explained. “When they asked who I considered in the same league as me, I said Sakshi and Ronit. Then they asked how much money the three of us could potentially make. That’s when I said, if you’re a top actor and a wise investor, you can build enough wealth to support four generations. And Ronit and Sakshi have definitely done that.”

Ram clarified that he never claimed to have made that kind of money himself. “TV is different from film. Films may come once in a while, but a successful TV show can go on for years. Like Sakshi’s Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, which ran for eight years. That kind of monthly income, consistently over years, adds up. But it only matters if you invest wisely,” he emphasized.

He pointed out that spending without planning can defeat the potential financial benefits of long-running shows. “No amount of money is enough if you don’t invest properly,” Ram added.

In an earlier Humans of Bombay interview, Ram had said, “It’s not that TV actors earn as much as film actors, but a hit show running 7–8 years can bring in consistent income. If you’ve worked smartly over 20 years and saved wisely, yes, you can take care of the next few generations.”

Ram Kapoor is widely known for shows like Kasamh Se, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, and Kehta Hai Dil. He has also made appearances in films such as Student of the Year, Udaan, and Agent Vinod. Once among the highest-paid actors in Indian television, Ram’s financial advice comes not just from experience, but from careful introspection.
