Growing up, Ranbir Kapoor watched Bobby Deol, and upon working together, he discovered the striking similarities between them as individuals.

 

Ranbir Kapoor characterized his upcoming film Animal as an “adult-rated Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” during the trailer launch event. He further mentioned that his role in Animal is the “most complex character” he has played in his career.

During the event, Ranbir Kapoor provided insights into the film, stating, “Animal is essentially an adult-rated version of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. In a nutshell, it revolves around a man who goes to great extremes to safeguard his family. That’s the essence of the film.” Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, released in 2001, was a family drama directed by Karan Johar.

Ranbir Kapoor expressed admiration for Bobby Deol, stating he watched him while growing up. Upon working together, Ranbir realized the similarities between them as individuals, sharing a Punjabi background that created an instant connection. Despite shooting shirtless in freezing London temperatures, Ranbir highlighted the warmth between them, emphasizing the enduring bond they forged during the experience.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the trailer of the film showcases a violent world revolving around the tumultuous relationship between Ranbir’s character, Arjun Singh, and his father, Balbir Singh, portrayed by Anil Kapoor. Scheduled for release on December 1, the film also features Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna.

The 3-minute-32-second trailer suggests that Ranbir’s character has evolved into a fierce individual due to his turbulent upbringing. Arjun is portrayed as protective and obsessed with his father’s love, resorting to threats against anyone who poses a challenge to his affection for his father.
