YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, has issued a public apology following widespread backlash over his comments made on India’s Got Latent, a show hosted by comedian Samay Raina. In a one-minute video posted on social media, Allahbadia acknowledged the inappropriateness of his remarks and expressed regret for his actions.
“I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry,” Allahbadia wrote in the caption accompanying the video. He went on to explain that his comment was not only inappropriate but also failed to meet the comedic standards expected in such settings. “Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry,” he said, emphasizing that he had made a lapse in judgment.
The content creator also addressed the concerns raised by his podcast audience, many of whom include young viewers. “The podcast is watched by people of all ages. I don’t want to be the kind of person who takes that responsibility lightly,” he stated. Allahbadia acknowledged the importance of maintaining a positive influence and pledged to use his platform more responsibly moving forward. “I need to use this platform better. That has been my learning from this whole experience. I promise to get better,” he added.

In addition to the apology, Allahbadia confirmed that he had requested the makers of India’s Got Latent to remove the “insensitive sections” of the episode featuring him. “I have asked the makers of the video to remove the insensitive sections from the video. All I can say in the end is sorry, I hope you can forgive me as a human being,” he concluded.
The controversy began after Allahbadia made a sexually charged “would you rather” question involving a contestant’s parents, which sparked outrage on social media. Following the incident, a police complaint was filed in Mumbai against Allahbadia, Raina, and fellow content creators Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani. The complaint, which was submitted to the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women’s Commission, accuses them of using abusive language and making inappropriate remarks on the show. The letter also alleged that the comments were intended to profit from controversy and could have a negative influence on young audiences, particularly minors.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the issue, stating that while freedom of speech is important, it should not infringe on the rights of others. “Our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others,” he said, adding that if societal norms were violated, action should be taken.
The incident has drawn sharp reactions from both the public and political figures. Congress leader Supriya Shrinate called Allahbadia’s remark “perverted” and expressed concern over the normalization of such behaviour.
As of now, Allahbadia has not made any further statements on the matter, though the controversy continues to dominate discussions on social media. Despite the backlash, the podcaster remains a popular figure with over 50 lakh followers on Instagram and more than 10 million subscribers on YouTube.
