YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, has found himself at the centre of a heated online controversy following his remark on comedian Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. While social media remains divided over whether the trolling against him is justified, fresh video footage from an audience member present at the live taping sheds new light on the incident.
The backlash began after a joke made by Ranveer during the show sparked outrage, with many deeming it inappropriate. However, an attendee from the live audience has now come forward, claiming that the situation is being blown out of proportion.
In a viral video posted on social media, the audience member stated, “I was present in that episode, and I know exactly what happened. Ranveer cracked the joke, but right after that, he apologized multiple times, asking, ‘Sorry, I hope you didn’t feel bad?’ I know a ‘sorry’ doesn’t fix everything, but he made sure the participant was comfortable.”

He further revealed that despite the joke, the contestant continued interacting with the judges and eventually won the competition. “After the win, everyone went to congratulate him. Ranveer hugged him and once again said, ‘Are you okay? You look good. Sorry if my joke hurt you.’ Even Samay reassured him, saying, ‘You killed it, bro. Crazy performance.’ So, I just want to say—why spread unnecessary hate?”
Following the circulation of this video, support for Ranveer began pouring in online. One user commented, “People spreading hate need to see this,” while another wrote, “Thank you for sharing this. The hate is completely unnecessary.”
A day before this revelation, Ranveer took to social media to issue an apology, calling his remark “insensitive and disrespectful.” However, what shocked many was his disclosure that he and his family have been receiving death threats over the controversy.
While public figures are often held accountable for their words, the question remains—has the backlash crossed a line?
