Ranveer Singh has come out to be one of the most successful and versatile actors in Bollywood. He started his career with the movie Band Baaja Baraat and has now given some exceptional hits with his wife Deepika Padukone and the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. However, it wasn’t easy for the actor to reach this pinnacle of success and his initial journey was also filled with many rocks and struggles.
During an old chat show, Ranveer Singh had stated that there was a time when he thought he would never make it big in Bollywood as he had no filmy connections. “I had a struggle period, my first realisation of becoming a mainstream actor was perhaps a bit far-fetched. It was in the 10th standard. I sort of realised that my dream – after all – may not come true because most of the people around me were from a filmy lineage,” he said.
He added, “I thought to settle for something which seems within my reach. So, I decided to join a university in America for further studies and I was late to register for classes due to procrastination only to find out that the acting class for non-majors had a slot empty, so I enrolled myself in.”
Ranveer told that he struggled a lot because when he was trying his luck in Bollywood, not many movies were being made as there was a recession in the market. He added that the opportunities were very few at that time as there were no digital platforms. For almost 3.5 years, he was visiting offices with his portfolio in hope of getting one break, and getting a chance to play the lead seemed quite impossible at that time but he still tried for it.
