Rashmika Madanna Opens Up About A Specific Dance Phobia, Reveals How She Overcame It In Pushpa 2
Rashmika Mandanna, who is currently receiving immense praise for her role in Pushpa 2 – The Rule, recently opened up about overcoming a significant fear during the film’s shoot. The actress, who gained fame for her role in the first Pushpa film, revealed in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama that she struggled with a dance phobia before filming the song “Peelings” from the sequel.
Describing the experience as both challenging and liberating, Rashmika said, “This is the most difficult choreography and song that I’ve ever shot in my life.” She explained that the dance involved a lot of lifting, a task she had always found intimidating. “Sir has had to lift me right, and I have a phobia of being lifted. I have never let anyone lift me because I’m just scared,” she confessed. However, the actress shared that the shoot for “Peelings” was a turning point. “But in this song, where Sir had to lift me and dance throughout the whole song, I think, somehow, I have let go of the fear. Now, I am like ‘you want to carry me, carry me,’” Rashmika said with a smile, acknowledging her growth during the shoot.
The song, composed by Rockstar DSP, was one of the last additions to the film, making its creation a unique challenge. Rashmika elaborated, explaining that the film’s earlier songs, such as “Saami,” were shot over an extended period to perfect their choreography. In contrast, the shoot for “Peelings” was compressed into just 4 to 5 days due to tight promotional schedules. “The tricky part of ‘Peelings’ was that it was shot when we were promoting the film. Any other song, we shot for over a period of time because we wanted to achieve that perfection. Then came ‘Peelings’ and we hardly had about 4 to 5 days to shoot it,” she said.
Pushpa 2 – The Rule, directed by Sukumar, is a continuation of the story of Pushparaj, a small-time sandalwood smuggler who becomes a feared gangster. The film features an ensemble cast, including Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, and is produced by Mythri Movie Makers. As the film continues to soar in popularity, Rashmika’s personal revelations only add to the buzz surrounding the movie.
