Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon made everyone swoon to her tunes in 90s. She is one of the most-loved actress till today. The actress’ charming looks combined with exceptional acting talent make her a perfect fit for the industry. However, achieving great heights in career was not easy for Raveena. She had to work really hard and develop a thick skin to carve her niche. In a recent candid interview with Lehren Retro, the diva recalled how she was written off during her active years. She also shared why she never hid her former relationships her children.

Raveena Tandon on dirty side of 90s journalism

Revealing why she never kept anything secret about her love life from her kids, Raveena said that she is a public figure and so, the details about her are already out there. She called her life an open book.

The actress further shed light on the ‘yellow journalism’ of the 90s. She stated that if not today, tomorrow her children will read about it somewhere and they might read something worse, because of how the ’90s press was. She mentioned that journalism was at worse at her time. They had no scruples, no morals, and no integrity.

Continuing the same, Raveena talked about how during that time, no actor or actress could control their narrative. She quoted, “Whose camp they were in or which hero or heroine was buttering them up, they would only write about them, and their side of the story, without even waiting to find out what the truth was.”

The 50-year old actress recollected how she was slut shamed and body-shamed by media. They called her names and the more scandalous the story, the worse they would write. Raveena said that she has been called so many things, ‘Amazonian’ and ‘thunder thighs’, ‘Ms Arrogant’, ‘Ms High and Mighty’, etc.”

Raveena’s personal and professional life

Raveena Tandon is married to businessman Anil Thadani. The duo has two children Rasha and Ranbirvardhan together. The actress also has two adopted daughters Pooja and Chaya.

Workwise, Raveena will come up next with ‘Ghudchadi’ alongside Sanjay Dutt. Besides this, she also has a third instalment of the ‘Welcome’ franchise titled ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ in her kitty.
