Rajkummar Rao Gave A Big Statement On Nepotism
During a conversation with Karan Johar and Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao discussed nepotism and revealed that he lost a film due to star-kid privilege.
According to HT reports, Karan Johar mentioned that people want to draw attention to the insider-outsider debate. He expressed doubt on the claim that if you’re not part of Bollywood parties, you lose roles.
In an interview, Karan Johar discussed the impact of being an outsider on casting opportunities for certain celebrities. He mentioned that some people were held responsible for not attending parties for their lack of roles.
Despite participating in various events, Karan said he couldn’t recall any role offers. Rajkummar Rao responded by acknowledging the value of networking but expressed discomfort with solely attending parties for networking purposes.
Karan then asked if Rajkummar had been offered any roles or had witnessed role offers at parties, which Rajkummar denied.
He disclosed losing a role meant for a star kid, stating, “In my case, what happened was I had to do a film, and then I was not in that film all night. This role was given to someone who is known as a star kid. I will definitely think it’s not right just because you can control things, you know people, you can’t do this, it’s not right.”
