Kamal Haasan, known for his impressive acting skills, has a massive fan following not just in South India but also in the North. He made his debut in Hindi films in 1981 with “Ek Duuje Ke Liye.”

Recently, a throwback interview of Kamal Haasan has been going viral on social media, in which he explained why he left Bollywood due to ‘underworld’ and ‘black money’ issues.

Kamal Haasan Shocking Revelations

In the viral interview, Kamal Haasan revealed that he did not want to either bow down to or oppose the underworld in Mumbai. He mentioned, “That time was like that. I was the poor cousin in Hindi cinema. I had to wash my own clothes and do such things.”

He Expressed: “They were really spoiled and rich. They could make a film in two and a half years and work on six films at once. I found it very demoralizing, both morally and technically, in character building. That was one reason. The other reason was that there were many underworld connections there. I either wanted to stay and oppose it or bow down to the threat. I was one of those actors who decided that I would have nothing to do with black money.”

When asked if it is possible for an actor to achieve great success without corruption, Kamal Haasan said, “Yes, I am living proof of that. I am quite happy. I traveled by car. It is quite possible. Someone else had done it before. Cameraman Vincent never touched black money.”

Actor further said: “This was a long time ago when some government threatened him not to keep black money. My brother and I made that decision.”

Kamal Haasan will soon be seen in “Kalki 2898 AD” alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. At a press conference in Mumbai, Kamal revealed that he spent a lot of time with director Nag Ashwin to finalize the look for the film. Kamal will be playing the villain in the movie.
