The power couple of Bollywood-Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone has made us swoon over them many a time. The stars who fell for each other while shooting for a film together have come a long way. Now, in a recent interview, Singh talked about how he and Padukone started bonding with each other initially.
Opening up to Esquire Singapore, Ranveer said that though he and Deepika are quite opposites, they connected on a common point that is they both are outsiders in the film industry. When they began gelling up, it was their struggles, rejections and humiliations that they talked about with each other.
“She’s (Deepika) also had to work her way up in the entertainment business. She’s that classic story of packing a suitcase and coming to the big, bad city. We’ve both connected over the rejections, the humiliations, the struggle, the reliance on one’s supportive family, etc.,” he stated.
Talking about Deepika’s family, he quoted, “They’re like, as you said, a very simple middle-class to upper middle-class family, and they’re centered and grounded people.”
For the unknown, Ranveer and Deepika fell head over heels in love with each other while filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie Ram-Leela in 2012 . The duo dated for a long time before taking the plunge in 2018.
On the professional front, Ranveer Singh will be next seen in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus. The film will hit the theatres on the coming Christmas, and will also see Deepika appearing in a cameo. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone has Pathaan alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Project K with Prabhas and Fighter opposite Hrithik Roshan in her kitty.
