Riteish Deshmukh Under Scanner: Maharashtra Government Orders Inquiry On Loan Case Worth Rs 116 Crores!

Actor Riteish Deshmukh is embroiled in controversies. An inquiry has been ordered to find out whether there was any irregularity by the cooperative banks in granting loans to his company. Maharashtra minister Atul Save informed on Wednesday.

Let us tell you that a few days ago, some BJP leaders in Latur district had accused Riteish Deshmukh as well as Genelia D’Souza-led company ‘Desh Agro Pvt Ltd’ ‘of irregularities in giving loans by the cooperative bank.’

In this regard, Cooperation Minister Save said, “BJP’s Latur district president (Gurunath) Mage had written a letter in this regard. I don’t know anything about MIDC, but I have ordered an inquiry to find out if there was any irregularity on the part of the banks.”

The actor Riteish Deshmukh and his wife Genelia D’Souza Deshmukh are accused that their company Desh Agro 2021 was established and the company was allotted land a few days later. Not only this, but both are under question regarding the loan of Rs 116 crore given to the company by the Latur District Central Cooperative Bank in October 2021 and July 2022.

The state BJP leaders alleged that the organization applied for a loan from the Pandharpur Urban Cooperative Bank on October 4, 2021. The bank sanctioned the loan of Rs 4 crore on October 27. It applied for a loan from Latur District Central Cooperative Bank. On 27 October a loan of Rs 61 crore was approved. It took another Rs 55 crore loan from the bank on July 25, 2022.

Deshmukh is the son of former Maharashtra Chief Minister as well as Congress leader late Vilasrao Deshmukh. His elder brother Amit was a minister in the MVA government. His younger brother is an MLA representing Latur Rural Constituency.
