Actor Varun Tej, the nephew of veteran Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, got engaged to actor Lavanya Tripathi in an intimate ceremony on Friday. The two have been rumored to be dating for quite a few years now but they never confirmed nor denied it.

The inside details of the private engagement ceremony

Reportedly, Varun Tej met Lavanya Tripathi on the sets of the 2017 movie Mister and have been going strong since then. The engagement took place at Varun Tej’s home in Hyderabad and was attended by close family members. Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, and Sai Dharam Tej were a few members of the family who attended. While Varun wore an ivory kurta and pajama by Tarun Tahiliani, Lavanya Tripathi decked up in a lime green Banarasi saree by Anita Dongre. With a polki choker and a messy bun with gajra, Lavanya looked perfect in her desi avatar.

Both Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi shared their engagement photos on their Instagram handles for their fans. While Varun captioned the photos “Found my Lav”, Lavanya captioned the photos ” 2016 (infinity emoji) and beyond. Found me forever”. The two are rumoured to get married later this year.  As soon as the couples shared the news on social media, wishes started pouring in from the Telugu film fraternity. Actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Vaishnav Tej, Pragya Jaiswal wrote “Congratulations” Actor Producer Lakshmi Manchu posted ” Congrats you two. Here’s wishing you a lifetime of happiness”. Varun Tej’s sister, actor Niharika Konidela posted photos of the family with the couple and captioned, ” Been waiting for this day foreverrrr now! Welcome to the family, Vadina.”

On the Work Front

Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi worked together in two movies so far – Mister and Antariksham 9000kmph. Varun Tej will be seen in a spy thriller Gandeevadhari Arjuna in August this year. He also has an untitled film with Manushi Chillar to be released later this year. Meanwhile, Lavanya Tripathi forayed into OTT by starring as a cop in the web series Puli Meka.
