Actor Saif Ali Khan’s film ‘Devara’ was released in theaters on September 27. Saif has been in the news for a long time regarding this film. At the same time, ever since the actor has taken back the ownership of his ancestral house, ‘Pataudi Palace’, speculations of turning it into a museum have also intensified. However, Saif Ali Khan himself dismissed these speculations and said that his house has a very special place in his heart.

While talking about the significance of his historic home ‘Pataudi Palace’, Saif in a conversation with one of the media houses said, ‘Legacy-wise, this house has belonged to different people over time. My father was born a Nawab, he was a Nawab. He lived life on his own terms and he was the most wonderful person. He said times have changed and he decided to rent the house to a hotel. I remember my grandmother telling me, ‘Never do this’. It has history and it is something I am proud of.’

The actor further added, ‘My grandparents are buried there, my father is also buried there. This is my family home. There are a lot of old houses here, we call them Darbar Hall, but I think that name has become outdated. I want to call it the Long Room after the hall of the lords. This house was built by the seventh Nawab of Pataudi and my father. I want to put his cricket field and bat here and I really want to recreate this house with his spirit. This has been my dream, and it is almost done.’
