Bollywood icon Salman Khan returned to Weekend Ka Vaar with his trademark straightforward attitude, directly addressing long-standing claims that he has derailed others’ careers in the industry. In a candid moment on the show, Salman dismissed the accusations, stating that if he ever had to destroy someone’s career, he would begin with his own.
During Sunday’s episode, actress Shehnaaz Gill appeared alongside Salman and requested him to allow her brother Shehbaz Badesha to enter the Bigg Boss 19 house. Shehnaaz remarked, “Sir, aapne itnon ke career banaye hai,” praising his support for many newcomers. Salman, however, humbly disagreed, responding, “Career banane waala toh upar waala hai,” crediting divine will over personal influence.
He further addressed accusations, saying, “Laanchan bhi daala hai ki kitno ke dubaaye hai… Kaunsa career khaaya maine? Agar khao bhi, toh apna career khaaunga.” Salman emphasized that ruining careers is not within his control and brushed off the narrative that he wields such destructive power in Bollywood. He also admitted to becoming complacent at times, but always striving to regain focus and control over his own journey.
These statements come in the wake of fresh criticism by Dabangg director Abhinav Kashyap, who recently accused Salman of sabotaging his career. In an interview with Screen, Kashyap claimed, “He (Salman Khan) is the father of the star system in Bollywood… They control the whole process. If you don’t agree with them, they come after you.” Salman has also previously faced similar allegations from singer Arijit Singh and actor Vivek Oberoi.
Meanwhile, in the latest development on Bigg Boss 19, the week ended without any eliminations. However, a twist was introduced with the entry of a wildcard contestant. Shehnaaz Gill’s brother, Shehbaz Badesha, joined the house as the first wildcard participant of the season. The reality show continues to air on JioHotstar and Colors TV.
