Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files is doing well at the box office. The film has been highly appreciated by the critics and the audience. The movie has featured artists like Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar and Puneet Issar. The reactions of lesser celebs have come to the fore regarding this film. However, now Anupam Kher told that Salman Khan called him after watching the film. Anupam told that Salman called and praised him and the film.

In an interview with Times Now Navbharat, Anupam said that some celebs have praised the film by calling him personally. He said, “Salman called me and congratulated me on the film.’ Salman and Anupam have previously worked in several films together which includes the best of films like ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.”

When Anupam was asked about the silence on behalf of the Hindi film industry regarding the film, he said, “Everyone is surprised by the performance of this film. Talking about the Hindi film industry, they are also in shock. This has never happened. Whenever something shocking happens, such strange reactions come, like when Sholay was made, I was told by the director of the film, Ramesh Sippy, that the film didn’t work for the first 3 weeks because people didn’t understand how such a film was made in India. In the first 3 weeks itself, the film was called a flop. But then everyone knows about the tremendous response that the film got.”

 

Anupam further said, “When Hum Aapke Hain Koun premiered, the industry said, oh my god, yeh kya banaya hai, yeh toh wedding video. Although the audience still likes to watch this film and at the same time the film earned a record-breaker.”

So that’s what happened after watching The Kashmir Files. He never imagined that a small film based on a tragedy, so dark and with blood and tears in it, would become such a big hit.
