Samantha Ruth Prabhu, after years of shooting, is finally ready for “Citadel.” At the Prime Video title reveal event, Sam promoted her upcoming spy thriller “Citadel: Honey Bunny.”

She shared how she never imagined she would take up an action role. But now, here she is experimenting and acing action stunts. Her last project was “Khushi,” a Telugu movie with Vijay Devarakonda.

‘Though I couldn’t do it’

Sam was nervous in the beginning about starring in a spy thriller, one which already has an established fan base globally. Citadel is originally a US show, directed by the Russo brothers, and this Indian instalment fits within the same universe. Samantha is as excited as she is glad that she chose an action project.

The gorgeous actress said, “I never would have imagined that I would take action.” But she expressed how grateful she was to be standing there on that special night. “This event is already such a victory because, at the last moment, I didn’t think I could do it. I didn’t think I would be a part of the Citadel,” she got emotional.

The “Shakunthalam” actress gave credit where it was due – to Amazon, Raj, DK, and Sita, the makers and crew. “They came to my rescue. I just had to prepare physically. I am just so incredibly proud already that this is the way it looks. I can’t believe this is how it looks.”

Recently, she also spoke about how she feels uncomfortable with sexuality. Looks like she is breaking all barriers.

Shooting details under wraps

Varun Dhawan stars opposite Samantha in this web series, and it marks their first collaboration. However, the makers went to extreme lengths to keep the shoot details a secret. A long schedule happened in the cold regions of Serbia, with nail-biting action sequences, which we get to see once the show is available on Prime Video.

Priyanka Chopra, who played the lead in the US show, earlier stated that both storylines are connected. This Indian version has a 90s backdrop, with an underlying love story angle. Other crucial characters are played by Kay Kay Menon, Shivankit Singh Parihar, and Sikandar Kher.

Samantha shares stunning new pictures

Sam looked her usual sultry self at the event, and she dropped stunning photos from the same. On her Instagram handle, she shared hot pics in a metallic top teamed with black pants. Her caption read, “Unbelievably grateful #Citadel #HoneyBunny.”

In contrast to this fierce expression, she posted cosy photos with actress Tamannaah Bhatia. Bhatia’s rumoured boyfriend Vijay Varma clicked the beautiful shots, as seen in Sam’s stories. “This meeting was long overdue,” wrote Prabhu, while Tamannaah replied, “Yaar, meet me more often.”

Samantha is suffering from an auto-immune illness Myositis, due to which she took a break from acting. She also faced personal issues, and yet, her unwavering strength kept her going. She says, “I wouldn’t change a thing.”
