By Archana Das

Due to the COVID-19, film shoots are coming to a halt. Celebrities are using their time spreading awareness about the importance of vaccination and the issues arising because of the pandemic in human health. Sanjana Sanghi is active on social media to help those who are battling mental health problems in this crucial scenario.

Recently, the Dil Bechara actress tied up with an NGO for a fundraiser to provide critical relief supplies and psychological support. Sanjana Sanghi: our children and their families in the most remote areas need us. #ProtectAMillion

“In several cases, children have lost either one parent or both the parents to coronavirus, and the idea is to reach them with critical care,” she said. She further added, “Amidst all the covid chaos, I could see the mental health crises unfolding. That’s when I partnered with a psychological e-counselling platform. This issue is such that if we do not look into it in time, then the impact can be devastating.”

Thus, through her social media handle, she urged people facing anxiety, depression, or any mental health issue to reach out to her for help so that she can connect them with professionals.

Sometimes, she feels distressed and on it, she said, “On a regular day, I would turn to my family, but if it is about work then it will be someone who I am close to from the industry. I have studied psychology in school, and that really changed my life. My close ones always call me a patient listener. I am comfortable listening to my folks and friends and help them process what’s going on in their minds.”

Sanjana elaborated her thoughts on the initiative, “While doing this, I tend to disentangle my own thoughts and emotions as well. It’s a two-way process. I realized our minds and emotions need as much managing as the other aspects of our life. You manage your house and work; likewise, you have to manage your emotions and mind. My love for psychology made me more observant and aware of this aspect of humans.”

She also said that in this crisis situation, people should seek professional help when needed.

“When you are subjected to sudden grief and sorrow, you are unable to process the information. In times like this, you can’t even reach out to your friends, as many of them would probably be going through the same emotions. So, in the current scenario, we are unable to use the regular crutches that we otherwise use for our emotional support. This is where seeking professional psychological support comes in.”

However, she recently did a video song with Guru Randhawa called ‘Mehndi Wale Hath’. She also has begun her shooting for OM: The Battle Within with Aditya Roy Kapur.
