The makers of ‘Kedarnath’ were not pleased with Sara Ali Khan signing ‘Simmba’ in the middle of their project. They filed a compensation case of ₹5 crore against the actress, causing her a lot of distress.

Seeing her troubled, Rohit Shetty gave her three days off for shooting, allowing her to return to the sets of ‘Kedarnath’. Sara mentioned that this period was very tough for her.

Sara signed ‘Simmba’ midway through ‘Kedarnath’. Speaking to Mid-Day, Sara Ali Khan said, “Kedarnath was the first film I signed. I was shooting for it when the co-producer backed out, halting the shoot.

She Expressed: During this time, I signed Rohit Shetty’s film ‘Simmba’. When ‘Kedarnath’ shooting resumed, the dates clashed. I received a notice of ₹5 crore from the makers of ‘Kedarnath’.”

Sara further explained, “During this time, I was alone at home. I didn’t have ₹5 crore. My mother was in Delhi as my grandfather’s health was very poor. Ibrahim was at school. The court papers arrived at home, and I had no idea what to do.”

Amid these troubles, one day, Rohit Shetty and ‘Kedarnath’ director Abhishek Kapoor had a meeting. Rohit Shetty gave Abhishek Kapoor three days of Sara’s shooting schedule, which resolved the matter.

‘Kedarnath’ was Sara Ali Khan’s debut film, featuring the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role. The film did not perform particularly well at the box office. On the other hand, ‘Simmba’ was well-received by the audience and became a super hit.
