The Black Widow star has reportedly been the target of harassment from Branham since August 2022.
Actors and actresses mesmerise us with their screen presence in movies and TV shows. However, sometimes the fans get a little too obsessed with their idols and resort to illegal things.
The Marvel star Scarlett Johansson is a renowned film artist with millions of fans. She got frustrated by an allegedly obsessed fan named Michael Joseph Branham. She filed a restraining order against him, but sadly, the court dismissed the case.
Scarlett Johansson harassed
Reports state that since August 2022, Branham has been harassing the Black Widow actress. It has been reported that he tracked Scarlett’s neighbour for more than thirty miles, thinking it was her, and got in touch with them when they arrived.
The neighbours of Scarlett Johansson were alarmed by it and informed the assistant of the Avengers star. It was in November of last year.
Dismissed restraining order
According to a report on Blast, the Supreme Court of California was forced to dismiss Scarlett Johansson’s restraining order against her alleged stalker. It was because the court papers had not reached the obsessed fan.
Johansson’s lawyer, Michael Goldstein, reportedly failed to serve the culprit. As a result, the restraining order was dismissed, including all the other temporary restraining orders, if any, which were also dissolved.
More about the case
Most likely, following the incident with her neighbour, Scarlett Johansson filed the case in November 2023. The actress was so terrified that she decided to take action against the purportedly obsessed fan.
The report also stated that following Branham’s initial appearance in 2022, Scarlett hired Jon Perkins, a private investigator. The investigator revealed that Branham uploaded a picture of himself in front of her house and wrote, “Here I am and where I’ll be forever.”
Furthermore, according to Jon’s research, the purportedly obsessed fan wrote in multiple of Branham’s notes that he wanted to see Johansson and her son, whom he thought he was the father of.
