“A lot of people saw something they didn’t want to see,” Selena Gomez said on Kelly Clarkson’s daytime chat show on the unexpected style glitch she suffered at the 2022 Emmys.
Selena presented an award at the Emmys alongside her ‘Only Murders in the Building’ co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short. Selena Gomez revealed that she had a wardrobe malfunction at the 2022 Emmys.
Many wondered if the lining underneath her dress was meant to be bunched up or not as the My Mind & Me star made a spectacular debut at the event in a shimmering white halter gown. For those who were wondering, Selena, clarified that it was absolutely a malfunction.
During a recent interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the Rare Beauty creator revealed that it was not a conscious sartorial decision. “My dress was riding up the entire time,” Selena explained, adding, “so a lot of people saw something they didn’t want to see.”
The talk show presenter assured Selena that she looked “radiant” and “amazing,” adding that she didn’t even notice the gaffe. The 30-year-old accessorised her white Celine gown with Boucheron diamond-and-emerald tassel earrings, a matching metallic green manicure, a big diamond ring, and a beautiful updo.
Selena presented the Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Talk Series at the presentation, with her Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short.
She also discussed her documentary, My Mind & Me, and how “scared” she is to be so candid. Selena has opened up about her struggles with bipolar disorder, lupus, and her 2016 ‘psychotic break,’ among other things.
“It wasn’t easy,” Selena admitted, prompting Clarkson to respond, “I think it’s refreshing.” It’s good, in my opinion, because the world is so filtered. We’re from different generations, so I feel like your generation and younger live in a strange world where everyone filters everything online, which isn’t real life. That’s not how life works.”
